Bell Rock is one of the easiest hikes in Sedona

So you’re looking for the easiest trails in Sedona? Maybe you want to have a relaxing vacation, see the sights, but not put too much effort into hiking? I got you! I’ve been to Sedona multiple times and would love to share with you the easiest shows in Sedona that also have a great view.

When I say the easiest trails in Sedona I mean shorter trails with not a ton of incline and a nice rewarding view at the end. these are great if you’re bringing kids, or a beginner hiker, or just want a short trail to do before or after a long grueling trail on the same day.

Also If you’re looking for new things to add to your hiking kit to make the day more enjoyable – I created an amazon list of my favorite things I take hiking with me all the time. You can check it out here.

Bell Rock

Bell Rock is a great trail for everyone and definitely one of the easiest trails in Sedona because you get to choose how far you want to climb up. I like to recommend starting on the Courthouse Vista Parking lot and hiking from there. Google Maps should take you to that parking lot when you put in Bell Rock. My favorite part is that you can just follow the trail to the left or right and then climb up the rock and turn around to a fantastic view. This is another great early morning spot, especially if you are in to meditation or people watching. Most of the trails are very short, under 1 mile, at Bell Rock so you can’t go wrong just picking one of them and following it up. Be sure to find a good spot to sit and take in the energy and view. This is one of the main vortexes of Sedona so maybe you’ll feel something too!

Seven Sacred Pools

Seven Sacred Pools is one of the most popular hiking trails in Sedona and with that there’s a lot of issues getting parking. Of all the trails off this parking lot Seven Scared Pools is definitely one of the easiest hikes in Sedona. Seven Scared Pools is one of the shorter trails in a large network of trails all with 1 14-car parking lot. If you want to get a parking spot I definitely recommend arriving by 7:30am to get in the car line for when the gate opens automatically at 8am. If you aren’t lucky enough to get a spot there is a local lady in a red van that provides rides (for tips, think $5 each way) and she regularly posts on the All Trails guide with her contact information. I am not going to add it here just in case you stumble across this post after she’s discontinued her rides. She is super sweet and will take you from a close by park to the trail head and back.

The Trail itself is only 1.1 miles round trip. There are tiny bits of elevation gain but nothing too strenuous. Its well marked with cairns and you get a great view of Coffee Pot Rock from the backside as well. If you want something harder in this area then absolutely check out Soldiers Pass Trail which is an additional 4.5 miles with significant elevation gain but a great cave view at the end.

Birthing Cave

I’ll be honest, I might be stretching by calling Birthing Cave one of the easiest trails in Sedona. Birthing Cave is a fantastic sunrise or early morning option. I would not Recommend it without AllTrails downloaded first though, the trail is not marked. It’s only 2.0 miles total there & back but there are no cairns or signs along the way. All Trails has a perfect map that’ll help you get there.

The last 0.1 miles is where the trail goes from easy to moderate and may seem a bit dicey but just take your time and watch your footing and I promise you, you’ll be in the cave looking out in no time! I would only do it with good shoes. Be careful of the cactus, there are a few right along the last little stretch but it’s nothing you can’t avoid. I find this trail to be very quiet every time I hike it but the view is best at sunrise. I wouldn’t be surprised for the view was great before sunset after mid day but I haven’t had the opportunity to hike it at that point yet.

Airport Mesa Vortex (not the full loop!)

Don’t mistake this for the full 3.4 mile airport loop. Airport Mesa is a short hike down and back up if the parking lot at the look out point is full. You drive to the top of the airport, pay $3 to park then hike 0.6 miles down to the look out spot. When you’ve had your time absorbing the view & energy you just hike right back up that same 0.6 miles. It’s Ricky so you are watching your feet a good bit but totally doable. There are 2 sets of benches along the trail too, in case you wanna stop and take a break or just enjoy the view. It’s absolutely stunning and always on my list of easier hikes in Sedona.

Honorable Mentions: Others I’d consider the easiest Trails in Sedona

  • Tea Cup to Coffee Pot Rock. For starters, the trailhead has a Very small parking lot. Definitely don’t park in the neighborhood. Its not a popular trail but the views are great. Watch for the mountain bikers.
  • Sugarloaf Loop Trail – this is great for a beautiful sunset and is under 2 miles! Easy elevation gains.
  • Fay Canyon – a tad bit longer at 2.6 miles but super easy on the elevation gains. Really only worth it if there’s recently been water so you can see the waterfall otherwise you just get a dry creekbed. There is an arch nearby thats definitely not an easy trail.
