Welcome to Guatemala! Please arrive into Guatemala City by 3:00 PM to join our included group transfers to Antigua. As we leave the city behind, we’ll make our way into the mountains and arrive in one of the most beautiful colonial towns in Central America.

After checking into our hotel, you’ll have some time to settle in, meet your fellow travelers, and soak up your first views of Antigua’s colorful streets and surrounding volcanoes. This evening we’ll gather for our welcome dinner, share travel stories, and officially kick off an unforgettable week together.

Today we’ll spend the day getting to know Antigua, a city that feels like stepping back in time. We’ll take a guided walking tour through the town to wander through colorful streets lined with historic buildings, hidden courtyards, and beautiful churches while learning about the city’s fascinating history.

Later, we’ll visit a local coffee farm to see firsthand how Guatemala’s world-famous coffee is grown, harvested, and roasted. You’ll have the chance to sample fresh coffee while enjoying views of the surrounding countryside. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace, shop for local crafts, grab a rooftop cocktail, or simply relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Overnight in Antigua

Today is all about adventure! We’ll hop on ATVs and head into the mountains surrounding Antigua, passing through scenic landscapes and stopping at some incredible viewpoints along the way.

Our second destination is Hobbitenango, a mountaintop retreat known for its giant swings, whimsical structures, and breathtaking volcano views. We’ll spend the afternoon exploring, taking photos, and soaking up the scenery before returning to Antigua for one final evening in town. Be sure to enjoy a good night’s sleep because tomorrow is a big day!

Overnight in Antigua

Today we’ll take on one of the most iconic adventures in all of Central America – were going hiking up to Acantenago!**

In the early morning we’ll make our way to the office and collect all your gear and get ready for the hike – afterwards we’ll head to the Acatenango trailhead and begin our journey up the volcano. This is one of the best hikes in all of Central America! Guests may choose to hike or take advantage of available 4×4 Jeep assistance options depending on comfort level and availability.*

As we climb higher, the views become more spectacular with every step. By late afternoon we’ll arrive at our mountain camp, perched high above the clouds with front-row seats to neighboring Fuego Volcano.

Once you are at the base camp you can rest and enjoy the views or you will have the option to do an additional hike – the Fuego Hike. It adds approximately 4 hours roundtrip to your hiking time and you are required to be at the base camp by 3pm to complete the second hike.

Tonight is what makes this experience so special. As darkness falls, we’ll gather around camp, enjoy dinner, and watch Fuego erupt throughout the evening. Seeing glowing lava explosions light up the night sky is something you’ll never forget.

Most gear from headlamps to day packs is included. Things like good hiking socks should be brought with you or can be rented with the tour company as well. A full list will be provided of what is included vs what you need to pack in your overnight bag in the group chat. The hiking company will carry your big backpack up about 80% of the way. The tour operator include 4 meals, snacks, water bottles with safe filtered water and local guides to hike up to base camp with the group. Accommodations are 4 pax per room & private cabins are available for 1-2 people as well at an additional cost. If you prefer to book a private cabin you can add that after checkout.

*There is an option for 4 people (max) to take a 4×4 Jeep up for part of the hike and not hike the entire way at an additional cost but this is not guaranteed if you book this trip and has to be booked by October 1st 2026. You should only sign up for this trip if you are prepared to do the full hike.

**Please note this hike is considered strenuous and may not be for everyone. The hike is a GROUP hike and will not be private with only us. Accommodations tonight are shared 4 people per room. .

Overnight at Acatenango Base Camp

Early risers can choose to join the optional sunrise summit hike for even more incredible views across Guatemala’s volcanic landscape. After returning to camp and enjoying breakfast, we’ll begin our descent back down the mountain.

From here we’ll continue to Lake Atitlán, its approximately a 2.5 – 3.5 hour drive to a place often described as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Surrounded by volcanoes and charming lakeside villages, it’s easy to see why travelers fall in love with this region.

After checking into our hotel, the rest of the afternoon is yours to relax, enjoy the lake views, and celebrate completing the volcano adventure.

Overnight at Lake Atitlán

Today we’ll explore Lake Atitlán by private boat, hopping between some of the lake’s most charming villages. Each village has its own unique personality, colorful streets, local traditions, and incredible views.

We’ll spend the day discovering artisan communities, browsing local shops, enjoying lakeside scenery, and learning more about the culture that makes this region so special. Keep your camera handy because every corner seems more beautiful than the last.

Overnight in Lake Atitlán

After several days of adventure, today is intentionally relaxed.

Sleep in, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, grab a coffee with a view, explore the lakeside villages, shop for souvenirs, or simply spend the day soaking up the peaceful atmosphere of Lake Atitlán. For those looking for one more adventure, you could even go on an early morning excursion to Indian Nose for one of the most famous sunrise viewpoints in Guatemala.

This evening we’ll gather for our farewell dinner around 6pm as the sun sets over the lake. It’s the perfect opportunity to reflect on an incredible week, share favorite memories, and celebrate new friendships made along the way.

Overnight at Lake Atitlán

This morning we’ll say goodbye to Lake Atitlán and begin our journey back toward Guatemala City. Along the way we’ll enjoy an included lunch and take in some final views of Guatemala’s beautiful countryside.

Guests who want to arrange evening flights after 7pm are welcome to depart later today if they prefer. For everyone else, we’ll spend our final night at a comfortable airport hotel, making tomorrow’s departure completely stress-free.

Enjoy breakfast before heading to the airport for your flight home. You can book a flight home at any point today as we will have airport shuttles accessible all day. While the trip may be over, the memories, photos, and friendships made along the way will last much longer.
