I recently stayed in Zermatt Switzerland (November, 2021) and wanted to give an in-depth review on the property I stayed at, Hotel Bristol. If you’re just here for the verdict, I’ll spare you the details. Would I stay there again? Absolutely. In a heart beat. I personally think Hotel Bristol is one of the best hotels in Zermatt & it’s a super affordable hotel too. Hotel Bristol is a 4 star property located in Zermatt, Switzerland. Its family owned and operated. Theres a cozy bar downstairs and the wifi is strong enough to work on everyday. I booked them through booking.com and the rate was very competitive with the other 3 to 4 star hotels in the area.
Pros
- Amazing Breakfast buffet – they warm the milk up for your coffee and will make you a cappuccino if you ask too.
- Spectacular view of the matterhorn if you book that specific room type. I love a good view so I definitely did and it was spectacular. I could see the mountain from my balcony and I couldn’t ask for a better view.
- Free Wifi – and its nice & strong too. Important if you need to upload videos or get work done.
- Free Shuttle to take you back to the train station, which was especially helpful when I was running late for the train & it was snowing.
- Super courtesy & friendly staff. From the front desk to the breakfast staff – everyone was incredibly nice.
- Wonderful spa & theres even a private sauna – great for apre-ski time.
- Very clean property, from the lobby to the room – they definitely take care of their hotel.
Location
Hotel Bristol is just a short walk from the ski lift, under 2000 ft. Its uphill but not more then 10 minutes until you’re hoping into a gondola to go up the mountain. Hotel Bristol is also super close to a bunch of great eats. I walked with my luggage from the train station to the hotel in no time at all too.
Cons
- Honestly – I can’t think of anything negative about Hotel Bristol that I’d consider a con. It was that good of a property & very reasonably priced. Maybe the eggs were a bit runny one day, but is that really a con?
Overall I’d absolutely stay here again, I’d recommend this hotel to family & friends and I cant wait to visit again. It is very reasonably priced for the area – as Zermatt is quite pricey. If its on your list and has everything you’re looking for – Book it.
