So you’re looking for the best things to do in Paris, France to have an amazing vacation! This is list of the 10 best things to do in Paris France and the best way to see as much as you can in 3 days in Paris! Not only that but theres an itinerary of how you can do all of this in just 3 days!
Go to the Louvre
Home to the Mona Lisa, the louve is easily one of the top things to do in Paris France. You’ll definitely need to buy your ticket in advance, especially if you go during the summer. Even if you choose to not stand in the line for the Mona Lisa you can certainly walk by it on your way to other great pieces of art in the Louve. You should definitely plan to spend at least half a day at the Louve.
Visit Museum d’Orsay
Another fantastic museum in Paris. You need to buy your ticket for the Museum d’Orsay ahead of time and it is a timed ticket. This is another museum that you could easily spend half a day at. I’d recommend it as an afternoon tour one day!
Visit the Eiffel Tower
Whether you only take a photo in front of the Eiffel Tower or you decide to go up to the top – you really can’t go wrong. One thing that you should consider is stopping at the Eiffel Tower at night to watch it light up! It twinkles on the hour for 5 minutes every hour! I definitely recommend going up to the top if weather is great because the view is amazing. There are 3 levels to the Eiffel tower that you can access, one that has a restaurant on it. This ticket will give you access to one of the levels & the very top – I use GetYourGuide whenever I’m buying tickets because they always have basic tickets but also tours as well.
Visit Arc De Triumphe
The Arc De Triumph is easy to reach by the Metro or a Big Bus Tour. Once you’re there don’t just stop and take a photo in front of it on the sidewalk, take the staircase underneath the road and walk to the middle of the circle to see the Arc close up! There are unground walk ways from the south and north so you won’t be too far from either, however you decide to go. You can also go to the top of the Arc! If seeing Paris from the sky is on your list you should do it here or at the Eiffel Tower – both require a ticket which you should definitely purchase ahead of time. I always use GetYourGuide.com to buy my tickets.
The Best Paris 3 Day Itinerary
If you’re short on time but want to see everything that Paris has to offer, this is the itinerary for you!
This is 3 full days, not taking into any travel from the airport or another city days.
Day 1
Start your day at the Eiffel Tower, grab breakfast at one of the cafes nearby if you don’t have breakfast at your hotel – Kozy Bosquet is nearby and a favorite of mine. After strolling around the grounds of the Eiffel Tower hop on the bus or take the metro over to the Arc de Triumph. Don’t just get a photo from the street, be sure to take the underground sidewalk to the middle and enjoy the view of the massive structure up close. You should go up to the top of one of the two of these today if weather is agreeable!
After lunch head to the Orsay Museum with your timed ticket from GetYourGuide. Grab dinner then if you aren’t worn out, go back to the Eiffel Tower to enjoy a nighttime show that happens every hour!
Day 2
Start out early and head to the Louvre Museum, make sure you buy your ticket before you go on this trip so you don’t have to wait in any lines.
After a long morning of looking at all the amazing parts of the museum take the Big Bus tour or Metro over to the Notre Dam Cathedral. It sadly experienced a major fire in 2019 so the inside is under construction but its absolutely worth a stop to see the outside.
Day 3
Visit the Catacombs – if you aren’t claustrophobic this is one of the coolest things to do in Paris! You don’t need to pay the extra amount for the guide either.
Have an extra day in Paris? Go to Disneyworld Paris
I haven’t been but if I had an extra day I’d definitely go out to Disneyworld Paris. I enjoy theme parks and I’ve heard good things about Paris although its much smaller then Disney in Orlando.
How to get around Paris
The Metro is VERY easy to use, if you’re comfortable using it then google maps is your best tool.
My favorite way to get around Paris is via the Big Bus Tour. Its way more leisurely and you can get on and off at any point. I like to get a 1-2 day pass and use it to hop from site to site. The passes are “24 hour or 48 hour” type passes so as soon as you redeem them your 24 hours starts ticking.
Some of the restaurants I definitely recommend trying out include:
Pink Mamas – the food and decor is fantastic and at night theres a speak easy type bar.
Kozy Bosquet – near the Eiffle tower & Parc du Champ de mars, try to go during the week as the weekends are super busy with a line out the door.
