Day 2 :
March 20th

It’s time for our first big day in India!

We will kick things off by travelling towards Mughal, Agra. Agra was founded in 1504 on the western bank of the Yamuna River. It went through break taking expansions and architectural development due to each emperor looking to out do the previous; this has left some absolutely beautiful sites to experience – lots of amazing photo opportunities for you to grab straight away!

In the afternoon we’ll stop at one of the wonders of the world -the Taj Mahal for a beautiful sunset experience. Emperor Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, which took 22 years to make and was only possible by him turning his back on running the empire to complete the build! The dedication to the building, and the love that went into every aspect of it’s design, still stands tall nearly 400 years later.

To finish the evening, it’s time to explore the local street food. You will have the opportunity to trial some really fresh and spicy local cuisines such as pani puri, a crispy fried puri, or tikki, a dish of potatoes, peas and spices! This is authentic Indian food made by the hands of those who really know their work. Then it’s time to head back to your luxurious hotel room to relax and unwind.

Today you will start the day with a morning visit to the Agra Fort, a forbidding red sandstone battlement situated within the Mughal palaces. You’ll learn about where the emperor would sit and address his subjects, and view the Diwan-i-Khas were nobble people would come and discuss important happenings of the time.

As the day moves forward, you will begin your journey towards Ranthambore, your home for the night, stopping along the way to grab some more local cuisine.

Ranthambhore National Park is a MUST SEE park within India. A place of pure nature and beauty, reclaimed by mother nature herself encasing ancient fortresses and temples within it’s vegetation. This is bound to be a highlight of your trip, but we will save the fun for another day!

Optional Activity: If you fancy getting up early today, you can start your day with another trip to the Taj Mahal for a sunrise exploration and picture opportunity! If this is something you’re interested in, we can discuss this prior to the trip. (Additional Charge)

Day 4 :

This morning you will wake up bright and early and head out on our first Jeep Safari of the day. We’re looking for Tigers today!

Ranthambore National Park is Rajasthan’s first Tiger reserve, and houses a 1,000 year-old-fort. The park used to be a hunting ground, that covers 1,334km, but now looks to protect and love the nature it once almost destroyed. The park does home some tigers, and your goal will be to spot these unique and endangered creatures. But it also homes stunning Asiatic deer, many different bird species, crocodiles and pythons! You may even be able to spot leopards and lot bears in the surrounding countryside, but this is extremely rare.

Lots of the animals you will be surrounded by in this park are endangered species and rare animals, so this really could be the last time you ever get the opportunity to see these animals! We highly recommend bringing a fully charged phone / camera and some battery packs to really make the most of your time here.

Also known as the ‘City of Victory’, Jaipur is the state capital and largest city within Rajasthan. The whole city was once full of colour, with every building representing a different colour, but in 1853 Prince Albert visited the land, and as a sign of appreciation, the colour pink was painted everywhere as the traditional colour of welcome.

This afternoon you will be free to do as you wish. There’s lots of local markets filled with clothing, local handmade crafts and souvenirs. Chat within your group leading up to the trip to discuss what you might want to do here.

Afterwards we’ll visit the City Palace then we’ll jump on a rickshaw and travel over to a haveli. Haveli’s were ornately decorated old mansions, that displayed wealth for people to see. The festival of colors is a celebration all over India, originally a festival to celebrate the arrival of spring – it represents the throwing off of gloomy winter and enjoying the bright and life filled spring season.

In the festival, people will smear and cover one another in colored powders, sometimes using water guns and water-filled balloons to really add to the fun and colors! So prepare to get super messy, and just enjoy the invasion of colors and art surrounding you.

The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy as you should wish ! You could even head back to the hotel for a thorough shower and a dip in the pool.

Do I need Travel Insurance?

Travel Insurance is required for this trip. There isn’t a minimum coverage required.

This trip does not include travel insurance & should be purchased separately.

Rachel’s personal favorite (from experience) is Travel Guard by AIG.

What is the age limit for this trip?

The minimum age is 19. The majority of the girls on the group trips are in their 20s & 30s. The biggest thing is mentality, being willing to be around girls of all ages, and willing to participate in all the activities.

The majority of my community is in their 20s and 30s, there isn’t a “too old” age but 23-38 is typical. That doesn’t mean that being 39 or 43 should stop you from joining us though! Please don’t let AGE be the reason you don’t join us. As long as you’re open minded to enjoying a trip with all ages, down to have A LOT of fun, and understand these are very active trips then you’re going to have a great time with us!

What is the activity level for this trip?

A good level of fitness is very essential to this trip.

Although there won’t be many long walks, there are some destinations that we will be visiting that are best approach by foot, and we wouldn’t want you to feel left out of any gorgeous sights and experiences.

What is the Cancellation / Refund policy on this trip?

Once the trip is confirmed with 8 spots booked, the 25% deposit is non-refundable. Additional payments over the 25% are refundable until we are 60 days out from the trip.

At the 60 day mark all payments are due and the trip is 100% non-refundable.

If you need to cancel your spot prior to 60 days before the trip starts, there is a $100 cancelation fee and the remainder can be used on a future Adventuring for Life trip.

If you cancel 1-59 days prior to the trip, it is 100% non-refundable.

Travel Insurance is highly recommended, especially for ALL International Trips, to protect you in case you do have to cancel at any point.

Can I pick my roommate?

Definitely! We always honor roommate requests. Prior to the trip starting, a roommate survey will be sent out. You can absolutely just let us know that you’re signing up with a friend on the survey and you’ll be put together.

Do you need to be from the US?

No! Anyone from anywhere can come on a trip, we’ve had girls from England, Germany, Canada and more! You could be the first girl from your country to come with us, we would love that.

Do I need to be Vaccinated for Covid-19?

While we do not require you to have a vaccination to partake in any of our trips, we highly recommend you checking the requirements for your country entering the trip destination before you book. We cannot be responsible for your vaccination status if you are denied access due to the country’s requirements.
