Itinerary

Expand/Close

Today is the day everyone arrives! We’ll all meet up at the airport then take multiple shuttles over to our hotel close to the port. Today is a great day to explore Split, as we don’t board our boat until tomorrow!

We’ll have dinner together as a group in Split to toast to a wonderful week ahead of us!

Included: Hotel in Split, Dinner, Transfer to Hotel from Airport

Note: If you can’t make it until July 23rd please be aware that the boat is leaving at 1pm so you must be at the port by 11am which is why we’re all meeting the day prior.

Dinner

After a quick breakfast we’ll head straight to the port and board our boat aka our home for the next 8 days!

Check-in is from 11am to 12pm and the plan is to depart Split around 1pm to head to Makarska! We’ll have lunch on board and stop to swim in the Adriatic sea on our way!

We get into Makarska late in the afternoon, giving you time to go around the town, grab a gelato and have dinner in one of the many restaurants, pizzerias and tavernas that line the promenade.

The most popular way to spend the night is at the famous Club Deep, also known as the “Rave in a Cave”. Say no more!

Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Transfer to to port from hotel, welcome cocktail on board the boat

Breakfast, Lunch
July 24th :

DAY TWO
Makarska to Mljet.

Our boat leaves early for the crossing to Mljet Island. After lunch, we will dock in either Pomena or Polace and have the rest of the afternoon free to explore this island’s stunning National Park and its lakes.

There are several options for exploring the national park that are included in the trip, you can go on a hike or hire a bike for a few hours and pedal your way around the lakes’ excellent cycle paths, or hire a kayak for paddle-power.

How you explore is up to you, venture off on your own or join Rachel on the kayak trip.

We also offer an optional onboard BBQ this evening (either in Mljet or we might head over to Slano or Sipan island) as the setting is perfect.

Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Entrance to Mljet National Park, Bike or Kayak Hire (Your choice)

Optional excursions: Captain’s BBQ (approx 100 to 150 kunas)

Breakfast, Lunch

Mljet (or Slano/Sipan) to Dubrovnik.

With some gorgeous bays around Mljet, Slano and Sipan, we are spoilt for choice for a swim stop this morning. We then cross to Dubrovnik through the Elaphite archipelago of islands – a truly amazing sight.

We arrive in Dubrovnik in the early afternoon, which gives you time for some must-dos, including a sunset walk around the famous walls and sampling a cocktail at one of the cliff bars as you watch the sun go down.

There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in and around the Old City, as well as events at clubs such as Revelin.

Optional excursions:

(1) Dubrovnik is also the setting for the capital city of Westeros, Kings Landing, in Game of Thrones. If you are a fan, why not take a walking tour of the locations of the most famous scenes in the ultra-popular show and get an overview of the history of Dubrovnik at the same time? If you are not a GOT fan then we also have a dedicated Dubrovnik Historical Walk that focuses on the city’s non-fictional history.

(2) Close to where your boat docks in Gruz port, there is a secluded beach with a 250-metre long ZIPLINE!

Breakfast, Lunch

There are so many things to do in this city. We recommend:
(1) Doing the awesome buggy tour – you are taken to Mount Srd to get a bird’s eye view of the Old City and Elaphite Isles before driving an off-road buggy around the mountain.
Unmissable!

(2)Taking a cable car ride up to Mount Srd for the most incredible view imaginable (note: buggy trip takes you past same cable car station for same view).

(3) Dubrovnik is also the setting for the capital city of Westeros, Kings Landing, in Game of Thrones. If you are a fan, why not take a walking tour of the locations of the most famous scenes in the ultra-popular show and get an overview of the history of Dubrovnik at the same time?

(4) Take a shuttle boat over to Lokrum Island from the Old City.

As mentioned, dinner is included this evening and is served around 6.30pm. The evening is free afterwards to have a few drinks onboard, head back into Dubrovnik, or go to a few places around Gruz port (we recommend the amazing Dubrovnik Beer Company bar near the boat).

Optional excursions: Buggy Safari and/or Game of Thrones+Dubrovnik Walking Tour.

Note: to give you the convenience of not needing to return to the boat for lunch so that you can stay out in Dubrovnik, the included meals for today are breakfast + dinner (not breakfast + lunch, like the other days).

Breakfast, Dinner

It’s goodbye to Dubrovnik and hello to more incredible scenery as we head to Korcula Island, which is said to be the birthplace of Marco Polo. The Old City (with the same name as the island) is another gem, with impressive Venetian architecture. Korcula hosts a small street party in the evening at the Deja Vu Bar, and the night can continue at the Boogie Jungle, outside the city.

Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Wine-tasting (5 wines from Korcula/Peljesac and other regions of Croatia)

Breakfast, Lunch
July 28th :
Hvar!

Korcula to Hvar Island (Hvar Town, Jelsa or Stari Grad)

Hvar is rated as one of the highlights of the trip and it’s not hard to see why. Hvar Town’s pocket harbour is a thing of beauty but you only get to truly appreciate it after climbing up to the fort that overlooks the whole bay.

We arrive after lunch but often we are not able to dock until late afternoon due to port restrictions. Once we arrive we can take a water taxi from the boat to the port to go explore.

Hvar’s nightlife is also legendary and we recommend catching the sunset at Hula Hula bar and taking the organized shuttle boat over to Carpe Diem – the famous “club on an island”.

Note: Hvar Town’s small port is often overcrowded in peak months. The port authority may order the boat to dock elsewhere on the island, such as Stari Grad or Jelsa, about 35-40 mins by bus from Hvar Town.

Breakfast, Lunch

Hvar Island to Split

Today is our final full day at sea which means we of course start with a swim stop at one of the many Pakleni Islands near Hvar and continues past Brac Island on the way to the biggest city on the Dalmatian coast: Split.

In the afternoon we dock back into Split, with enough time to take in some of the inspiring sights of this city, including Diocletian’s Palace, the iconic statue of Gregory of Nin and Bacvice Beach.

If you’ve had enough sightseeing and want to do something more adventurous then we can also transfer you to Omis for a rafting excursion on the River Cetina.

Optional excursion: River Rafting

July 30th :
Until Next Time!

Today is our last day, we’re off the boat after breakfast. Check out is at 9am. Multiple shuttles to the airport will be arranged today. If you wish to stay in split a bit longer there are multiple luggage lockers around the town to store your luggage in. Aim to have your flight no later then 5pm today.

Is this trip refundable?

Once the trip is confirmed with 8 spots booked, the 25% deposit is non-refundable. Additional payments over the 25% are refundable until we are 60 days out from the trip. At the 60 day mark all payments are due and the trip is 100% non-refundable. The only exception to this is if you or I find a replacement for you then your trip cost is refundable minus any credit card or paypal transaction fees.

Are flights included?

No flights are not included. People come from everywhere for this trip so I’m unable to include international flights.

Should I buy Travel Insurance?

Yes, in the current climate of traveling international I recommend everyone buy travel insurance.

Do I need to be vaccinated?`

Yes. Traveling without full vaccination to Europe is not something I wish to deal with in a group setting. The rules are continually changing for every country so even *if* you are allowed in the country without vaccination I don’t want to deal with last minute changes or cancelations due to countries changing their policies. There are many restaurants in cities that simply do not let people sit inside without a vaccine card and again that’s not something I wish to deal with in a group setting.

What is the average age range?

The average age on most trips is 24-35 but don’t let that discourage you from signing up. “39” doesn’t mean you’re too old to enjoy a trip. What I like to tell everyone before signing up is to make sure they’re ok with possibly traveling with people that are 21, that they may be the only “person their age” but also if you’re down to have fun and you do believe that age is just a number. You’re the perfect time of person for these trips. My trips are pretty high energy, pretty fast paced and fun – lots of fun. I just tell everyone to have an open mind and come to have a blast. We aren’t sitting down and relaxing by the pool for 7 days, we’re seeing the world!

What is the roommate policy on this trip

We have 11 cabins with 2 twin beds in each cabin. If you don’t sign up with a roommate then one will be assigned. Prior to the trip I send out a roommate survey asking basic questions and try to match people the best I can. The goal is to put you with a like minded roommate that’s going to make your trip even better. Surprisingly enough, some of my roommate matches have ended up traveling with each other outside these trips, which I think is pretty cool.

What is the food situation?

Half board is included everyday. Most days are Breakfast & lunch – 1 day is breakfast & dinner. 1 Day of open bar is also included on board. All types of allergies and food preferences can be cooked for. Vegetarian, Vegan, Pesc, Gluten Free, etc. Breakfast is a typical buffet style with hot and cold options. Lunch is a 3 course meal with a soup/salad starter, a main course and a desert. If you have specific things you cant/dont eat this can be accounted for before we arrive.
