We’re headed back to Tanzania, and this time everyone can come! Be prepared to be whisked away in a private safari 4×4 vehicle where everyone has a window seat. When we’re in the park you can even stand up and look out the pop up roof at all the wildlife! Then after several days of wildlife spotting, you’ll board a plane and head over to the beautiful island of Zanzibar to have a nice relaxing island vacation too! Serengeti is one of the best parks in the world for safari due to its open planes that stretch for miles. With multiple days of safari we will hopefully catch all the big 5 and hopefully even the infamous cheetahs.

Note: Rooms will be triple occupancy for the best price for a once in a life time safari trip – you can add an optional double occupancy or single occupancy room can be added for an additional fee! 

Co-Ed Note: Since our trips are primarily female – if you’re coming with a significant other, or only 1 friend / family member of the opposite sex, please be sure to upgrade to a double occupancy room.

Incredible co-ed safari trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar, featuring some unique experiences and adventures across two beautiful lands.

So much is included – from private luxury game vehicles where EVERYONE has a window seat to the domestic flight from Tanzania & Zanzibar. We’ve packed as much as possible into this trip while keeping the price reasonable!

All accommodation is triple occupancy rooms, with 3 separate beds, however there are options to pay additional fee for Double / Single Occupancy rooms.

We have also arranged for a professional photographer to come and join us for some of your adventures – meaning you can put down the phone and really live in the moment. This is a truly special moment, and keeps the memory of the trip alive for ages afterwards. Everyone will receive access to a digital drive of the professional photos to share with their friends and families.

Day 1 - February 9th :
Welcome to Tanzania!!

Today you will arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport any time after 6am, where you will be welcomed to Tanzania and grab a ride straight to the hotel.

We haven’t planned anything for this day, giving you the chance to get whatever flight you can and head to the hotel for a dip in the pool, and a quick nap to prepare you for the week ahead.

Tonight we will come together to have a big family dinner, and raise a glass to a fabulous week together! We are heading off super early tomorrow, so make sure you grab plenty of rest today so you’re ready to go!

Today you will wake up, enjoy a delicious breakfast, and then head out to explore the local area.

This morning you will be picked up early from your hotel, and head straight to experience the vibrant culture of Mto wa Mbuu Village – we will get a immersive tour around the village, learning all about the local area and their traditions and customs first hand. This is a unique experience to meet some of the friendly residents, and explore their bustling markets.

You’ll then stop for a delicious lunch, prepared with fresh local ingredients, and authentic flavours giving you the real Tanzanian experience that you’ve come for. This is a truly incredible way to begin every trip, giving you lasting memories of how local cultures invite guests in and teach them all about what it’s like outside of their normal life bubbles.

After breakfast, you will head into the Ngorongoro crater, down a steep and narrow forested road, before entering a luscious green land filled with the best animals you can imagine. As you travel through the land, make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the nature and life surrounding you.

If you’re lucky, you might spot one or more of the “Big Five” – lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos or leopards! But, the crater is filled with stunning warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas and so much more, so you should be able to spot something that can’t be spotted elsewhere!

This time of year is also BABY season – be prepared to witness tiny elephants and mini zebras all over the park!

We will also visit the Masai community, get to know everything about them and get to interact with this very elusive group.

Today we will spend the whole day in the beautiful Serengeti National Park. We will start the day with a filling breakfast, before setting off to explore the park and see everything it has to offer!

You will stop for a picnic lunch before continuing to explore the park with your local guide before returning to your lodge for dinner.

Today we head back to Serengeti National Park, so get up early and grab your breakfast before we get going for the day.
Keep everything packed and charged up to ensure you don’t miss any of the key shots you’ve always wanted.

This morning, after a lovely filling breakfast, you will  hop on a plane and make our way from Seronera Airstrip to Zanzania. Be sure to read the FAQ on maximum baggage limits for this flight!

You will hit the ground running by going on a fun tour of the local Spice Farm Tour, which offers you the opportunity to explore this beautiful country using all of your senses: Smells, tastes and textures! You will have the opportunity to experience the freshest spices the island has to offer. The farm is full of some super interesting varieties of plants; truly a highly in Zanzibar for sure!

Once you’ve had your fill, you’ll check into your accommodation, and now is the time to grab your swimsuit and take a dip in the cooling waters of the local ocean. Definitely well earnt after your busy couple of days!

Day 7 :
Beach Day!

Did someone say beach day?!

Today is a free day for you to explore as you would like, but the cooling coastal beach breeze and beautiful crystal waters will be calling to you.

There are so many options of things to do today. If you’ve had enough chilling on the beach then we can make plans in the group chat if people want to go off and explore the island more – there are blue safaris, massive turtles you can swim with and tons of other activities!

Time to get up bright and early for a day of water exploration!

We will leave the hotel super early to head down to ocean, for a brilliant tour featuring swimming with lots of colourful fish, bright and clear blue waters, and the most pristine white sand your eyes can see.

If you have a water proof camera, now is the time to grab it – the waters are unbelievably spectacular, and filled with so many colourful creatures. There will be plenty of time for snorkelling and a beautiful sand bar for you to chill and celebrate the week at.

As the day draws to an end, we will head back to the hotel before heading out to explore the evening.

Today is our final day, so grab a good breakfast and enjoy your last moments in this wonderland.

There will be 3 airport shuttles from 8am to 8pm back to Zanzibar Airport (ZNZ).

Optional: If you’re leaving after 5pm, why not join us on a trip to Stone Town: one of the oldest towns of East Africa, where you can experience the local history and learn more about the land you’re visiting. You will see some beautiful historical architecture, and (of course) they’ll be time for a little bit of shopping too. This trip is optional, and will be an additional cost of $59.

Who Is Hosting This Trip?

This trip is hosted by the fantastic Mackenzie!

She has hosted so many trips with us, including Iceland and India. She loves to get everyone involved and grab the best shots to make your trip super extra special!

Rachel will still be fully involved in the planning of the trip, and there to assist wherever and whenever required.

Do I need to be Vaccinated for Covid-19?

As of January 2023, Adventuring for Life is not requiring proof of covid vaccination for the trips. It is still strongly recommended that you are vaccinated and by signing up for this trip you accept all responsibility for your health & care if you test positive for covid on or after the trip.

Is Travel Insurance required?

Travel Insurance is required for this Safari trip.

You can get several quotes from Aardy.com – Rachel’s personal favorite (from experience) is Travel Guard by AIG.

Can I pick my roommate?

Of course! Prior to the trip commencing, a questionnaire will be sent out – if you have a roommate preference please write this in the box provided.
If you’re booking on with your husband / brother / partner etc. You will automatically be roomed with this person.

Can I have a double occupancy or single room?

Yes, although all rooms on this trip are triple occupancy – there is an option to have a double occupancy or single occupancy room. You just need to add it at checkout.

Are International Flights Included?

No International flights are not included. People come from everywhere for this trip so we are unable to include international flights. Please read the itinerary carefully and book yourself onto flights that arrive and depart on appropriate dates from the right airport!

What currency is the price of the trip in?

All trips are priced using USD, so you may need to convert this to your local currency.

Do you need to be from the US to come on this trip?

No! Anyone from anywhere can come on a trip, we’ve had girls from England, Germany, Canada and more! You could be the first girl from your country to come with us, we would love that.

What is the average age range of a group?

The majority of my community is in their 20s and 30s, there isn’t a “too old” age but 25-35 is typical. That doesn’t mean that being 39 or 43 should stop you from joining us. As long as you’re open minded to enjoying a trip with all ages, down to have A LOT of fun & do ALL the things, and understand these are very active trips then you’re good!
