Photos everywhere!)

Once we’re ready, we will move onto a more historical part of our trip, we will learn about the Hellfire Pass Memorial, built to honour the allied prisoners of war (POWs) and Asian conscripts who died while constructing some of the most difficult stretches of the Thai-Burma Death Railway.

We will then board a train at the Nam Tok station, and take a ride along the historic tracks along the Kwai Noi River, traveling over the original wooden viaduct (the Bridge on the River Kwai) constructed by the allied POWs.

It is a calm and relaxing location – somewhere to really reflect on the local culture and environment. A nice get away from the bustling cities so far.

Shall we head on down to the most vibrant city in northern Thailand? I think so!

Renowned for dazzling beauty and extremely welcoming locals, the ‘Rose of the North’ will leave you spellbound. We know you won’t want to leave this place ever, but we promises there’s always more to be seen! In the late afternoon, you will head off towards the stunning Doi Suthep; A naga-guarded stairway which will lead you to the temples. This is a small climb, definitely pack some good shoes for this, but we promise you every second is worth the effort.

The hypnotic atmosphere of chanting Buddhist monks and sweeping views of the city make this a memorable experience. This experience is something not many people you know will ever get to experience or enjoy, so take in the breath-taking event and make sure to really embrace this unique time with people who were strangers only 9 days ago!

And finally… one of the best stops for any true animal lover… let’s head down an Elephant Reserve! We are only visiting an ETHICAL elephant reserve where we can interact with these giant gentle beasts. No riding of Elephants, only enjoying their presence 🙂

Today, we will learn how this organization supports the protection, conservation and lifestyle of free roaming elephants in the region. You’ll observe the daily patterns of these jungle giants from a safe distance, seeing how they graze and socialise with their other friends. We will also enjoy some snacks near by the elephant’s mud pit, then be treated to lunch in a riverside sala (pavilion) alongside your new giant BFFs.

This evening, we will get together for a final group dinner in town – and toast to a once in a lifetime trip, something we will all remember for many years to come!

Do I need to be Vaccinated for Covid-19?

From 1 January 2023, Adventuring for Life will no longer require travelers to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 for this trip. However, we continue to strongly recommend that all travelers get vaccinated to protect themselves and others. We are not liable for any refunds if a country changes their covid policies between when you sign up and the trip commencing.

Should I get travel insurance?

Yes, for this trip you will need travel insurance, and it is highly recommended in any case anyway; This protects you & your purchase incase something happens before or during the trip that prohibits you from coming or staying through the whole trip.

This trip does not include travel insurance & should be purchased separately.

You can get several quotes from Aardy.com – Rachel’s personal favorite (from experience) is Travel Guard by AIG.

What is the age limit for this trip?

The minimum age is 21. The majority of the girls on the group trips are in their 20s & 30s. The biggest thing is mentality, being willing to be around girls of all ages, and willing to participate in all the activities.

The majority of my community is in their 20s and 30s, there isn’t a “too old” age but 25-35 is typical. That doesn’t mean that being 39 or 43 should stop you from joining us. As long as you’re open minded and meet the physical requirements to enjoy this trip, down to have A LOT of fun, and understand these are very active trips then you’re good!

What is the activity level for this trip?

A good level of fitness is very essential to this trip.

There are many physical activities each day that require the entire group to stay together & complete as a group. If you have knee issues that prevent you from walking for long periods or tough times going up inclines. We’re going to have A LOT of fun but we’re also going to be very active for the whole trip.

What is the refund policy on this trip?

Once the trip is confirmed with 8 spots booked, the 25% deposit is non-refundable. Additional payments over the 25% are refundable until we are 60 days out from the trip.

At the 60 day mark all payments are due and the trip is 100% non-refundable.

If you need to cancel your spot prior to 60 days before the trip starts, there is a $100 cancelation fee and the remainder can be used on a future Adventuring for Life trip.

If you cancel 1-59 days prior to the trip, it is 100% non-refundable. If you find yourself needing to cancel within 60 days of the trip Rachel will work to fill your spot to refund you minus a $100 cancelation fee but a replacement is not guaranteed.

Travel Insurance is highly recommended, especially for ALL International Trips, to protect you in case you do have to cancel at any point.

Can I pick my roommate?

Of course! Prior to the trip commencing, a questionnaire will be sent out – if you have a roommate preference please write this in the box provided.

Are flights included?

No International flights are not included. People come from everywhere for this trip so we are unable to include international flights. Please read the itinerary carefully and book yourself onto flights that arrive and depart on appropriate dates from the right airport!

What is the cancellation policy?

The minimum number of girls for this trip is 8. Once we reach 8, the 25% deposit is no longer refundable as I book our hotels, activities, etc. at that point. If we don’t reach the minimum number of people, you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel your trip more than 60 days prior to the trip your 25% deposit is non-refundable but can be used for future Adventuring for Life trips minus a $100 cancellation fee. Anything over the 25% will be refunded automatically.
The trip is 100% non-refundable 60 days prior to the trip – which in this case is on 26th of July, 2023.

The only way to get any money back within 60 days of a trip is if you are able to find a replacement. Rachel can definitely help try to fill the spot but there are zero guarantees we’re able to find a replacement. This is why we recommend travel insurance – incase something happens causing you to be unable to join us!
Rachel highly recommends checking out Travel Insurance quotes as they can be pretty reasonable and assist in these situations.

Do we have a tour guide?

Yes! A local tour guide will be joining us on Day 2 of the trip. We’ll have a free day in Bangkok to explore before they join. Rachel is hosting this trip but collaborating with one of her favorite small group trip companies to help create a fun seamless experience!

What currency is the trip in?

All trips are priced using USD, so you may need to convert this to your local currency.
